He's finally here!

Well, Carter is here!!
He got here Monday night at 5:01 pm.
He weighed 8 lb. 4 oz. and was 21 inches long.
He has a blonde mohawk!! We can't flatten it, it's so cute!
He looks more like Leighton than me. He has his nose and forehead and mouth. I can't decide about his eyes yet...I'm not sure if they are mine or Leighton's.
He is absolutely perfect and we are so excited about coming home!
We got to come home Wednesday afternoon...so last night was our first night with a baby at our house...it was interesting... a lot of crying and feeding and not much sleep at all...but overall, it went better than I thought. We will see how tonight goes!
Our dog Cohen doesn't know what to think yet! She just stares at Carter and tries to lick him.
We go to see the pediatrician tomorrow, so that will be our first trip outside the house together! It should be fun!

Waiting...

Well, I am 38 1/2 weeks now. I am DONE with school until I have to go back 6 weeks after Carter is born. I am doing pretty good. tired and swollen. I am dilated about 2 cm as of last Tuesday!! So that's really exciting! I go back to the doctor on Tuesday and hopefully I will be even more dilated! I hope Carter waits til after Thanksgiving to get here! The day after would be perfect! I wish I could tell him when he needed to come out...that would make things much easier.
We have pretty much everything ready for Carter's arrival. We are so excited and can't believe the time is here already!

Who knows, maybe my next post will have pictures of Carter!!!

Baby Shower Fun

Well I had two showers this weekend!
They were so much fun! One was thrown by my friends...it was a dinner/couples shower. They put a lot of thought into it and everything was perfect! The other shower was in Alexandria. It was thrown by some women from the church I grew up in. It was great! Lots of great gifts!
I only have about 5 weeks left!!!
The only complaint I have is swollen feet...lets just say that I'm glad it's cold outside so I can cover up my ugly swollen ankles with pants and don't have to wear skirts or capris. '
We put our stroller and carseat together last night! It kinda makes everything real now. We are so excited and can't wait for Carter to get here!!!!

Here are the great girls who threw me the shower!!
The cake at the shower!! so cute
The last time leighton and i will be at my parents house WITHOUT a baby! so we took a pic.
Cute burp cloths at my second baby shower.

2 months to go!

So, tomorrow I will offically be 32 weeks! That means only 8 weeks to go. Craziness!!! I am very excited and nervous. We went to a mandatory class last night about epidurals....well, it's only mandatory if you want an epidural, which I DO!! We also got to pre-register at the hospital, so everything seems so official and ready now!! All we need to do is pack our bag for the hospital which according to the lady who taught our class last night, should be packed 2 months in advance of the birth...scary. I hope I don't need the bag like next week! Yikes! Today, I got an invitation for Carter's first baby shower!!! It is sooo cute and I am so super excited about it!! Well, here is a picture I took today of myself. I swear in the past week or two, I have blown up in the belly.

our crib and my huge belly bump!

hello everyone!!

Well, we finally got a crib! I thought we would never get one. We set it up last night and this morning.
Also, here is a recent picture of my baby bump. It's getting larger everyday. I think I realized that my belly is getting bigger everyday when I dropped something and could hardly bend down to get it!! Not so much fun. I am feeling great though! I can't wait until my two showers in the same weekend coming up in Oct!! I have the best friends ever who are throwing me (well, actually Carter) one of them!

Love you all!!!

carter's room so far...

So Carter's room is a work in progress. We are still waiting on our crib to be delivered. My dad is building us a changing table...so we don't have much furniture in the room yet. We do have a twin size bed in there for times when I might want to use it. I also decorated some! Over the years of living with my friend Leigh, I have picked up on a few cute ideas...since she is like an artist!!! (allison too!) Here are some pictures of his room so far...

dr. visit

so i went to the doctor yesterday...and for the last few months my placenta has been really low...like close to my cervix. This could turn into something called placenta previa and basically, i would have to have a c-section...but good news!!! yesterday, my placenta moved up to where it needs to be!!! I am so excited!
I have to go back in two weeks and take my gestational diabetes test. You have to drink this really sweet drink and then they test your blood. Sounds like fun. jk.
Being off school has been nice this week. Thursday and Friday should be so much fun!! I'm sure the kids won't be hyper or excited at all!!

almost 27 weeks!

Hi everyone who reads this!
Carter is getting bigger everyday. He is kicking up a storm! It is getting harder to get comfortable when I sleep so that's no fun. I have been a little sick lately...just a cold, but it's no fun when you're pregnant AND sick. I am going to the doctor tomorrow for a check up so maybe she will tell me some medicine to take. School is going great so far! I have been blessed with a great class, so that is wonderful! They don't stress me out or anything! It's great.
We are about to start a birthing preparation class. It's 3 weeks long. Once a week. Leighton is not too excited about it because he has to miss some tennis matches. Sorry Leighton!

23 weeks and counting...

Well, I decided to create a blog. I guess people will read it. If not, then oh well. I am 23 weeks so far and feeling good! School is about to start and that makes me a bit nervous. Resting all summer has been so nice, so teaching all day will be a big change. We registered at Target the other day. It was a lot of fun and it made everything seem real.
Well, I'm sure I will have more things to post about in the near future!
